Dr. Srijana P. BAKSHI, MD

As a physician specializing in treating patients with Rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus, and a wide range of rheumatic and autoimmune conditions, Dr. Srijana P. Bakshi is a rheumatologist who strives to make a positive impact. When patients are under her care, they are aware of her honest concern for their well-being. Dr. Bakshi is a dedicated rheumatologist who is up-to-date on the latest medical research, clinical methods, and treatment options. She uses evidence-based medicine to diagnose and treat her patients. 

Dr. Bakshi received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Pokhara, Nepal, followed by an internship at the National Academy of Medical Sciences in Kathmandu, Nepal. She also completed the Intern for Public Health program at Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Pokhara, Nepal. She completed clinical field work in India and Nepal, and she also has experience teaching medical students in China.

She completed her Internal Medicine Residency Training at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania and her Rheumatology Fellowship Training at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut. She is ABIM Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.

Dr. Bakshi sees patients with a variety of rheumatic and autoimmune diseases such as Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Polymyositis, Gout, Vasculitis, Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, and many other conditions.

Ria Thomas, MS, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant who joined Arthritis and Rheumatology Center of Michigan in the fall of 2025. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2025 and her Bachelor’s degree from the same institution in 2024.

Ria is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care, with a special interest in managing rheumatologic conditions, particularly rheumatoid arthritis. She works with patients to improve their quality of life through individualized, evidence-based care for a wide range of conditions including psoriatic arthritis, gout, lupus, and osteoarthritis.

Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Ria is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants (MAPA).

Priya Renu, NP

Priya Renu, RN, MSN-Ed, FNP-BC. She is a highly experienced ANCC board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC). With over 10 years of clinical expertise in both Critical Care and Internal Medicine, Priya brings a robust and compassionate approach to patient care. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX, a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University, and a Family Nurse Practitioner degree from South University. Priya's extensive educational background and clinical experience ensure our patients receive evidence-based, holistic, and exceptional care.

She joined AARC of MI in 2025.  As a specialist in Internal Medicine, she focuses on complex autoimmune diseases. Her approach combines deep medical expertise with individualized care strategies to optimize patient outcomes. She is committed to continuous professional growth and strong collaboration within our healthcare team to deliver compassionate, effective, and evidence-based treatment.

She is a member of American Nurses Credentialing Center and Michigan Rheumatism Society.
